I see a picture of her in my mind, |
| She's smiling, laughing, with a glow behind. |
| A sense of calmness deep inside. |
Children playing..... Flowers blooming..... Sun shining |
I see me standing there, |
| What I hear she cannot hear. |
| She does not come near. |
Aching lonliness..... Fearfulness..... Cloudiness |
She is her and I am me. |
| I'd rather be her, |
| But together we are me. |
As I stand outside my body looking in |
| Wondering what they see |
| Am I that different? |
Am I an alien in the world of men? |
My feelings run deep not making it to the surface often |
| My soul cries when it sees others in pain, my head wonders why? |
| My blood runs as red |
My heart beats as strong |
So maybe if I seem different to you it's because I care |
| Take a moment and look deep within yourself |
| I mourn for those who have died and the tears run freely unashamed |
| I cry for those still in pain and it hurts me too |
| Maybe that is why I seem so different than you |
| I care, do you? |
The wind whipping my hair in my face makes me think of years gone by. |
| The clean fresh smell of the air makes my eye lids heavy and I begin to dream. |
| To dream, a wonderful feeling of freedom. |
An open passageway to years past and one's to come. |
Drifting through my mind I remember all the good times. |
| Laughing with friends, |
| Playing with a puppy, |
Hiking through the mountains. |
Darting to the future to see what I will become. |
| Chances I will take, |
| Things I will do. |
| All are in my dreams. |
| Slowly I drift back to reality. |
| To dream your future is one way but dreams often change like the seasons. |
| To dream is to experiment. |
| To find out the true future you have to live, |
| You have to wait |
| And in the meantime, |
| You have to dream. |
